19 delegates from the different districts of Belize came together to consult about what is happening in the local communities and the challenges and success being experienced.
The convention is also were the election of the new National Spiritual Assembly takes place. This is the elected body of 9 members who oversee the affairs of the Baha’is in the country. The election takes place with no campaigning, electioning, or mentioning of names. Each person prayerfully and secretly votes for those s/he feels is most qualified regardless of age, race, gender, or location.
